Robert S. Krause was the older brother of Elmer B. Krause and all these 73 years later, the family still felt the great fullness to mention that he had died at sea all those many years before. 

Elmer B. Krause’s name is on the Original Wall Unit at Hackensack High School, The Plaque at City Hall and the 1946 yearbook Dedication page. 

Let us always be grateful for the family’s sacrifice.

Click here to view the Friday June 23, 1944 Bergen Evening Record article which tells of Elmer Krause having been designated a naval aviator.  Elmer Krause is listed on the original wall unit, the 1946 dedication page, and the World War II plaque at City Hall. Although the paper has a middle initial of “B”, I believe this is the same person having grown up in town, I just remember something mentioned about someone who lived in a house
on Catalpa. 

Let us never forget their sacrifice.
